Creativity Development: Nurturing Your Creative Self
Oil Pastels on Paper, Adult Artist
"If you hear a voice within you say, 'You cannot paint,' then by all means paint, and the voice will be silenced." -Vincent Van Gogh
Have you been wanting to make art but procrastinating doing it? Are you feeling an urge to express yourself creatively but do not know how to start? In our sessions, I will guide you towards finding your creative self and overcoming roadblocks to creativity and self-expression. You can choose between 5 and 10 sessions.
For many people, a white piece of paper or blank canvas is daunting and anxiety provoking. In the safe inviting atmosphere of my studio, we will experiment with a large variety of media and "play" to bring back the fun of art making for you. You will leave each session feeling excited and inspired. Keeping a sketchbook or journal during our process together between sessions can be helpful towards unlocking your creativity and feeling the joy of self-expression.
Creativity Development sessions are appropriate for adolescents age 15 and older, young adults, adults and older adults. It is a natural part of the process that you may encounter deeper material than expected, which you can process further in your therapy. If you are not in therapy and discover issues that come up that are beyond the scope of our sessions, I will guide you towards figuring out what kind of therapy would be best for you.
